Chloe Sevigny at the Emmy Awards

I should have posted this last week, but I didn't have time. Well, even if Big Love did not win an Emmy award, Chloe Sevigny, looks every inch a winner in her polka-dot dress. Her one-shouldered sheer Isaac Mizrahi gown makes her stand out. The strategically placed gold brooch is also eye-catching. Love it!

Will Big Love Win an Emmy Award ?

September 20th marks the 61st Emmy Awards. It will be held tonight at the Nokia Theater, L.A. Live in Los Angeles, California.

On Soulmates

Just feeling sentimental today. I found this quote on being soul mates and I thought it's worth posting here on Big Love Blog:

"People think a soul mate is your perfect fit, and that's what everyone wants. But a true soul mate is a mirror, the person who shows you everything that is holding you back, the person who brings you to your own attention so you can change your life.

A true soul mate is probably the most important person you'll ever meet, because they tear down your walls and smack you awake. But to live with a soul mate forever? Nah. Too painful. Soul mates, they come into your life just to reveal another layer of yourself to you, and then leave.

A soul mates purpose is to shake you up, tear apart your ego a little bit, show you your obstacles and addictions, break your heart open so new light can get in, make you so desperate and out of control that you have to transform your life, then introduce you to your spiritual master..."

Jealousy, the Green-eyed Monster

Why is the color green associated with jealousy and envy? That seems to be the dominant color in my life lately. For the past weeks, jealousy, not to mention my suspicious crazy thoughts, is eating me up.

Luckily, Bubba has an enormous understanding and patience. Even when I have my witchy-bitchy moments, he tries his hardest to understand that I am just a woman. Sorry for generalizing, but don't we all have our crazy irrational moments? Just kidding!

Because of the things that I recently discovered, it turned me into this pathetic jealous person who feels the need to know her man's whereabouts 24/7. Even if he's just a few minutes later than what he told me, I would go ballistic. I would call numerous times during the day and don't stop until he picks up.

Nope, I am not proud of myself. I do not like what's happening to me. To give him credit, he is really trying his hardest to make me feel secure and happy in this relationship. He does not fail to give me the assurance that I need. Hope I will get out from this insecure mode soon.

Going back to the question, why do they call jealousy the "green-eyed monster"?

In Othello, Shakespeare alludes to cats as green-eyed monsters in the way that they play with mice before killing them.

Iago:
O, beware, my lord, of jealousy;
It is the green-eyed monster which doth mock
The meat it feeds on; that cuckold lives in bliss
Who, certain of his fate, loves not his wronger;
But, O, what damned minutes tells he o'er
Who dotes, yet doubts, suspects, yet strongly loves!

What are your middle names?
I won't mention it here because he does not like the sound of his middle name. lol

How long have you been together?
More than two years of bliss and happiness.

While You Were Sleeping

While You Were Sleeping - The title of this romantic comedy rings a bell to me but never have I seen the movie until yesterday.

When I started watching it, I was not able to see the title of movie. But it was rather engaging because it stars one of my fave actresses, Sandra Bullock. She plays a role of Lucy, a lonely fare collector on the Chicago railway who has a silent admiration for one of the regular passenger on the train, Peter.

One day, an unexpected event happen where Peter Callaghan was pushed on the tracks and Lucy saved his life. A nurse overheard Lucy saying "I was going to marry him" and assumed that Lucy was the fiancee of the patient in coma. Although the Callaghans, never met Lucy before, they also believed that she was Peter's fiancee.

Lucy was enamored by the warm welcome of the Callaghans to her that she was having a dilemma on how to tell them the truth. The story gets more complicated when Peter's brother, Jack came in the picture. Well, I won't spoil the story for you. All I can say is that there was a happy ending to it.

After watching the movie, I had to Google the title. No, I wasn't able to guess it right. But it was a pretty good one. It's very heart warming.

Like what Lucy said in the movie, 'Life doesn't always turn out the way you plan'. But who knows there might be a better a plan for us. :)

Missin' Him

How can you be missing someone when you spend everyday together with him? I'm not sure if it's just my hormones making me clingy at this time of the month but I feel like Bubba and I are no longer spending quality time.

But to give him credit, he may be busy with work and other stuff, but he tries to be there for me. This may make me sound like an obsessed stalker, but I just cannot get enough of him. When he gets home from work later than what I am expecting, for sure, I would give him a call right away to know where he is.

The good thing is he understands me even during these times I get really needy. I hope it's his days off soon that we can get to spend more time together. Oh well, but our days off do not fall on the same days.

Winter Wonderland

Digging into the old pictures here in my computer, I found these pics of our baby playing in the snow. She seems to love the winter time. She does not mind even if it's freezing in the backyard. I guess she's lucky she got fur to keep her body warm. When winter time comes, more pictures of her will be posted here on my blog. Bubba and I loves her to pieces.

Giving In to My Cravings

A few days ago, I mentioned that I am craving for Mocha Frappuccino. I gotta give in to my cravings! Nothing worth-mentioning happened at work today. Thanks goodness, I was able to go home pretty early. Can't wait for the weekend.

After spending time with Bubba, I decided to go with my pretty little sister at Starbucks. I wonder how many calories did I intake after spending half an hour at the said coffee shop.

Here's the nutritional facts table for Grande Mocha Frappuccino based on the Starbucks calorie counter.

The truth is I am not calorie-conscious, I am just curious. =)

Great Job Bubba!

Yesterday, Bubba received a confirmation that his "permanent" status at work will be effective this coming Sunday. After 4 months of hard work, Bubba's efforts have paid off. That's so right timing! He was glad about it because it's a holiday on September 7th (Labor Day) and they will be paid 250% of their regular pay. Hmmm, sounds good to me! You should treat me to a nice date. lol

Great job Bubba, I am very proud of you! You no longer have to hate going to work on holidays. :)
